口臭およびプラークコントロールに関するナツメグ洗口液と0.2％グルコン酸クロルヘキシジン洗口液の比較検討。無作為化臨床試験

Comparative evaluation of nutmeg mouthwash and 0.2% chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash on halitosis and plaque control: A randomized clinical trial.

背景:

ナツメグ（Nutmeg）は、歯垢や口臭を減少させるなど、多くの薬効を有することが知られている。本研究では、ナツメグオイルから洗口液を調製し、0.2％クロルヘキシジン（CHX）グルコン酸塩洗口液と口臭およびプラークコントロールに関する有効性を比較検討した。

Background: , commonly known as nutmeg, has been shown to have many medicinal properties including reduction of plaque and oral halitosis. In the present study, a mouthwash was prepared from nutmeg oil to compare its effectiveness with 0.2% chlorhexidine (CHX) gluconate mouthwash on halitosis and plaque control.

材料と方法:

歯垢および歯垢による口臭を有する被験者60名を登録し、無作為にA群（30名）とB群（30名）の2群に分けた。A群にはナツメグを，B群には0.2％CHXグルコン酸塩洗口液を1日2回，21日間投与した．ベースライン、14日目、21日目にプラークインデックスとオルガノレプティックスコアを記録した。データはMicrosoft Excelシートで集計され、適切な統計学的検定を用いて統計解析が行われた。

Materials and Methods: A total of 60 participants having plaque and plaque-induced oral halitosis were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups as Group A (30) and Group B (30). Nutmeg and 0.2% CHX gluconate mouthwash were administered in Group A and Group B, respectively, for 21 days twice daily. Plaque index and organoleptic score were recorded at baseline, 14 day, and 21 day. The data were collected, tabulated in Microsoft Excel Sheet, and subjected to statistical analysis using appropriate statistical tests.

結果:

ベースラインと14日目のプラークスコアの変化率は12.3％と9.44％（＝0.741），ベースラインと21日目の変化率は39.2％と39.4％（＝0.889），14日と21日目の変化率は27.7％と29.9％（＝0.805）となり，A群とB群では，A群とB群の方が，プラークスコアの変化率が高かった．805）、口臭スコアのベースラインと14日目の変化率はA群24.7％と16.3％（＝0.201）、ベースラインと21日目の変化率は54.5％と56.3％（＝0.487）、14日と21日の変化率は34.9％と40.0％（＝0.393）であり、A群とB群ではそれぞれ口臭スコアの変化率が異なることが示された。

Results: The percentage of change in plaque score between baseline and 14 day was 12.3% and 9.44% ( = 0.741), between baseline and 21 day 39.2% and 39.4% ( = 0.889), and between 14 and 21 day 27.7% and 29.9% ( = 0.805) for Group A and Group B, respectively, while the percentage of change in halitosis score between baseline and 14 day was 24.7% and 16.3% ( = 0.201), between baseline and 21 day 54.5% and 56.3% ( = 0.487), and between 14 and 21 day 34.9% and 40.0% ( = 0.393) for Group A and Group B, respectively.

結論:

ナツメグ洗口液は、0.2% CHXグルコン酸洗口液と比較して、オーガニックで経済的であり、同等の効果が得られた（Clinical Trials Registry-India/2020/10/028540）。

Conclusion: Nutmeg mouthwash is organic, economical, and equally effective as compared to 0.2% CHX gluconate mouthwash (Clinical Trials Registry-India/2020/10/028540).
