の同義語であり、本属の唯一の種であることが示された。ドミニカ共和国で産出された , のパラタイプのITS rDNA配列と最近発表された2つのコレクションのITS配列を比較したところ、これらはほぼ同一であることが示された。架設時には原種の配列は得られなかった。形態学的比較から同種性が確認された。の記述に関する詳細が指摘されている。これらの属に属する種は，シアノフォビア性の胞子のマーキング，毛を生じさせる濃い角張った外胚葉細胞，共通の基底茎からの複数のアポテシアの起源などの形態学的特徴を共有している。木材や植物の上ではなく，土壌上に発生することから，他の植物種と区別されている。形態学，系統的関係，栄養相互作用に基づいて，新属として「ジオディナ科」と「ジオディナ科」の二つの科があることがわかった。
