歯科（ラバー）ダム安定化の創造的な進化に関する簡単な歴史的展望を提示する。歯内療法専門医の大多数は、質の高い根管治療を提供するために、標準治療に従って金属製またはプラスチック製の安定化装置（クランプ）の適用に依存していますが、一般医による日常的な使用は理想的とは言えません。

A brief historical perspective on the creative evolution of dental (rubber) dam stabilization is proffered. While the vast majority of endodontists rely on the application of a metallic or plastic stabilizing device (clamp), as per the standard of care, to provide quality root canal procedures, the routine use by generalists falls short of ideal.
